Jerash

Jerash, conquered by General Pompey in 63 BC, became under Roman rule and was one of the 10 greatest Roman cities- The Decapolis League.
Today, Jerash is known to be the best preserved Roman provincial cities in the world.   In Jerash, you will see the grand and formal Roman urbanism, featuring paved and colonnaded streets, hilltop temples, well preserved theaters, spacious public squares and plazas, baths, fountains, and city walls.  

The Gladiator Show is featured daily.  The Roman Army/Chariot Experience is proud to present Legionaries in full armor in a display of Roman army drill and battle tactics.  The Gladiator Show is a 45 minute show highlighting the Legionaries and their battle drills. Tickets are sold prior to the show at the entrance of the Hippodrome inside Jerash.

Ajloun

Ajloun Castle was built in 1184AD by one of Saladin’s generals, Izzeddin Usama Ibn Mungidh.  The castle became important in the defense against the Crusaders.  The castle dominated 3 main trade routes in the Jordan Valley and protected the trade and commercial routes between Jordan and Syria, and one of the best preserved examples of Medieval Arab-Islamic military architecture. 
    

Um Qais

Um Qais is situated on the hilltop with a panoramic views.  Here you see Tiberius Lake, The Golan Heights and The Jordan Valley.
